Born in the lands near the town of Erlach, in his youth Baroon joined the Watch in town to battle raiding parties of goblins harassing his home villages.
One day on a patrol, tracks led into the Drakwald Forest and the group, following the tracks, was ambushed by beastmen. Following the ambush and ensuing slaughter, Baroon was the sole survivor, though some whispered that he fled the battle.
Afterwards, Baroon sought out a higher purpose and joined the Cult of Sigmar, and was given an honorable discharge by the Lector of Sigmar in Erlach.
Baroon was promoted to full Warrior-Priest of Sigmar by the Lictor of Bogenhafen following the destruction of the Order of the Golden Dawn.
After showing his devotion to Sigmar on countless occasions, saving his friends and protecting the weak and smiting the enemies of the Empire, Baroon Pratgar met a terrible end.
On a fine afternoon in Grissenwald, following the party's victory over the goblins, led by Gutbag, who infested the tower at Black Hills, the party encountered a large crowd, angrily shouting at a well-dressed imperial official. His guards had drawn their weapons, and the man looked terrified.
While Drake and Hugo strode through the crowd, standing between the mob and the official, and Dronk started pickpocketing, Baroon raised his hands and began calmly trying to calm the crowd, beseeching them to leave the official alone, and obey the Law.
As he preached to the angry mob, a silent figure slithered up behind him. Hugo and Drake saw only a purple-hooded figure flash for a moment behind Baroon, then draw a dagger which glowed like the sun, only with a sickly green light.
Before anyone could react, the dagger was plunged into Baroon's back, sending him into screams of excruciating pain. He fell forward on his knees, while his assassin said "The Purple Hand sends their blessings!" The crowd began screaming - as Baroons face suddenly elongated; his teeth becoming monstrous; his eyes buldged. Fine tentacles like hair, only writhing like possessed earthworms, burst from his every pore. Still Baroon screamed in monstrous agony, and his companions could only watch as he grew in size and bulk, still screaming, with dozens of mouths and eyes.
The crowd began to scream in terror and began to flee for the exits from the town plaza, the official forgotten. Baroon's voice grew shriller and louder and then finally burst into a cacophony of laughing, screaming, moaning and shouting. Baroon had become a nightmare made real - a Chaos Spawn. A hideous end for the most devout of Warrior Priests of Sigmar.
Through a grim and bloody battle in the Foshnensplatz square in Grissenwald, Baroon Pratgar, Chaos Spawn, was ended by his long term friends and companions. At his remains, his brother in arms Drake collapsed in grief, and prayed for Baroon's redemption amidst the writhing, demonic corpse.
