'I will tear you cultists limb from limb - you will learn the meaning of suffering at my hands!"
The twin brother of Drake Blackheart, Lucien was the designated heir of his father. However, following the attack on Castle Blackheart, Lucien headed north, to Erengrad, where he joined a group of Venators, fighting the beasts of Chaos. It was here he found a bear cub whose mother had been killed by hunters and raised it as his own. Balu, as he called the bear, grew to become a loyal and mighty companion and mount for Lucien.
When Lucien returned to Vodf after years spent in Kislev and the Troll Country, he greeted his aged father then headed to Altdorf in search of his brother Drake Blackheart, who had, like his uncle, became a Templar of the Order of the Firey Heart. When he left Vodf, he was still almost a child, and he wanted to recocnile with his brother, with whom he had fallen out before he headed east so many years past.
His inquiries brought him and his trusty bear companion Balu to the town of Eslohe, where he met the party who were investigating the corruption that had fallen on the land and were seeking a great warpstone meteorite that the chaos cult of the Purple Hand was looking for. To his despair, he discovered his brother, whom he had not seen since he was a child, had been killed only days before he arrived, on the battlements of Castle Eslohe.
He left the party in the dark of night to return to his family and inform them of Drake's death. On reaching Vodf, Lucien found that his ancestral home had been conquered by his fathers rival, Luitpold Fortenhaffer. His father had been killed, and Lucien himself was imprisoned in the dungeons beneath Castle Blackheart. With the help of his father's old steward, who remained loyal to the family, he escaped, and headed to Middenheim to recruit mercenaries to help him retake his inheritance. There, while being harrased by the local watch over his keeping of a bear without a chain, he ran into Drake's companions who he had first met in Eslohe.
As Lucien was seeking help to retake Castle Blackheart, he agreed to help the party, on the condition that once their business in Middenheim was finished they would accompany him back to Vodf to help him slay the Fortenhaffers. Given that the party was also seeking the last known Von Eslohe - one Gotthard von Eslohe - he could also revenge himself on the family that killed his brother. Together with the Ordo Fidelis, Lucien attacked the Windhund Haulage Company and discovered that the Purple Hand was working with a wizard named Markward back in Castle Blackheart, where they had reopened an ancient mine and were using slaves to dig up the warpstone within.
He is impatient to return to Vodf to have his vengeance.
