"You should not provoke me - you wouldn't like me when I am angry."
Born to an honorable noble family, Hugo Von Wolfhardt was raised in Sunderburg where his family has held land for generations. Situated between the Howling Hills and the Drakwald forest the land was easily and constantly raided by the foul beast-men of the forest.
Hugo's father was a man of great standing in the Order of the White Wolf, much like his father before him, and his father before him. Having been tasked with this small regions safety by non other than Boris Todbringer, The Elector count of Middenheim, Hugo's father, Baros Von Wolfhardt, had set off to eradicate an uprising of beast-men and bring a temporary peace to the land.
Traveling with a small retinue of trusted men-at-arms, Baros headed west to the Drakwald Forest. Whether Baros was fed false information or he was overconfident in his abilities is still under debate, nonetheless, Baros was met with overwhelming odds.
Sacrificing himself so that his remaining men could escape and return with a more numerous force. Barus fell to the twisted beast-men, but not before slaying a great number of the foul beasts, and even delivering a crippling wound to the beast-man shaman leader, Gor-Gor.
The returning men-at-arms found an acre of gore and blood where Baros made his last stand. In the center of the clearing where Baros's body had taken his last breath a stone monolith was raised both in his honour and as a warning to the enemies of man.
At this time having no sons of an age to rule the lands entrusted to him, Baros's younger brother Karuso Von Wolfhardt was given rule of the area. When Hugo came of age, his uncle having seen many of his honourable brothers traits in Hugo, decided it was best for Hugo to travel to Middenheim to join the Order of the White Wolf.
Hugo was promoted to full Knight-Templar by the Graf of Bogenhafen with Knight-Captain Kaiser providing the authority, following the breakup of the Order of the Golden Dawn.
